Mr. Arden Lee Shisler was born in Massillon,
Ohio, and represents more than six generations of the Shisler
family residing in Wayne County. He attended The Ohio State
University and served in the U.S. Army. In his professional
career, he has been a major supporter of public access to higher
education. We are honored to have his name grace our facility.
Since 1984, he has been a board member of Nationwide, a more than $118 billion, Fortune 500 international insurance and financial services organization based in Columbus, Ohio. He has been a board chairman of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, the parent company of the Nationwide organization since 1992. Mr. Shisler is a member of the Wayne County Farm Bureau, the Advisory Committee of The Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute and a member of the board of the Ohio 4-H Foundation. He is a former president and C.E.O. of K&B Transport, Inc, a former director of the National Cooperative Business Association in Washington, D.C., a former board member and vice president of the Ohio Farm Bureau federation and a past president of the Ohio Agricultural Marketing Association. He is a past member of the Ohio Trucking Association, the Ohio Trucking Safety Council and a past board member of the Wilderness Center. |
